Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Design and develop highly scalable APIs (application programming interfaces) that consume and provide accurate business data to other business groups within the Firm. Curate, design and develop high quality data models to ensure that data is accessible and reliable. Provide data-driven insight and decision-making critical to the Firm’s business processes. Understand existing and potential data sets in both an engineering and business context. Engage colleagues to understand new and changing business requirements, document them, and deliver software to drive business change. Drive adoption of Cloud technology for data processing and warehousing at the Firm. Implement and manage Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) via JIRA and Confluence using programming languages such as Java and Python.



Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline. Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with: Developing software using Java; Working with relational and columnar SQL databases, including database design; Working on a Linux command line to deploy software, view server logs and triage system issues; Maintaining software in a standard source control system, including SVN or GIT; and Working through the full software development including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment and production support.  Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: Using test driven development methodology and Java unit testing tools, including Junit. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with: Using a micro services framework; and Working on a global software development team and communicating status and design effectively with other teams.
