YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking an Associate to develop and support insurance relationships in the GSAM Retail Insurance Business, across multiple lines of business, client types, and asset classes. The Platform Development professional will focus on engaging client’s research and due diligence teams across various business lines including variable annuities, retirement recordkeeping platform, sub advised mutual funds families and executive benefits platforms. We require a candidate has a demonstrated history of success in investment sales and is hard-working, commercial and client-friendly.  Experience with the Retail Insurance client base is preferred but not required.

                            

OUR IMPACT

GSAM’s Retail Insurance Business sits within GSAM Global Insurance Asset Management, one of the four main client segments served by GSAM Americas Client Business.  The Retail Insurance Business is responsible for serving clients and driving sales via insurance company platforms and financial intermediaries including variable annuities, executive benefits, investment consultants, financial advisors, retirement record-keepers, and Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management.  The Retail Insurance Business consists of approximately 20 Sales and Client Service professionals based both in NY and around the US responsible for client engagement in support of GSAM’s investment capabilities and Goldman Sachs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Develop connectivity within the Firm to source and deliver multi-asset, equity, fixed income, and alternative solutions to clients.
  • Establish, maintain and grow relationships with leading insurance company due diligence teams, investment consultants and investment specialists across the institutional insurance, HNW and corporate markets.
  • Develop complete understanding and appreciation of the Goldman Sachs value proposition, which includes market insights, value-added content, and distribution-focused marketing strategy to deliver the firm when engaging with clients.
  • Lead and conduct regular in-person and virtual meetings with client to position the full suite of GS Asset Management investment solutions. Represent Goldman Sachs at client and industry conferences.
  • Partner closely with broader client relationship teams, including Key Account Managers and Field Wholesalers, to support holistic sales and partnership efforts.
  • Create and maximize sales and revenue opportunities within base of clients.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience
  • Demonstrated history of commercial impact and success
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of success within a complex sales environment
  • Investment sales experience required.
  • Series 7 and 63 required (must be obtained within three months of employment)
  • Extensive travel required
