RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Software Development role, responsible for working on the refiner development framework to support the data refinement of the Data Lake application. Maintain and support the existing refiner framework on the Firm’s Data Lake. Architect, design and implement the uplifts to the refiner libraries using Java as the core language to support the latest Spark and Hive versions. Improve the refiner library performance by leveraging the latest features in Hadoop, Spark, Hive and other big data technologies. Architect, design and implement the refiner framework on AWS Cloud. Analyze the issues encountered by developers using refiner libraries, design and implement solutions to resolve those issues and improve the productivity of refiner developers. Ensure that all platforms are built in accordance with the firm’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices and tooling such as SVN, Git, Jenkins, and in accordance with industry-standard design practices such as RESTful web services. Use testing tools like JUnit and Mockito to ensure robust code coverage. Use load testing tools to ensure performance and scalability meet system requirements. Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior developers.

 

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or Bachelor’s (U.S. or foreign equivalent)  degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field. Five (5) years of experience with a Master’s degree or seven (7) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related role. Must have five (5) years of experience with a Master’s degree or seven (7) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree with: Core Java programming; Designing and implementing platforms and frameworks for financial applications using Java, NoSQL distributed databases and big data technologies; Analyzing user requirements and procedures and using structured analysis and design methodology to solve problems and automate processes; Working with big data technologies including Hadoop, Apache Spark and Apache Hive; Working on Amazon Cloud projects; Performing load testing to test correctness, performance, and scalability of applications; and Working across the entire SDLC of product development including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, user acceptance testing, release procedures, change request analysis and production support. Prior experience must also include two (2) years of experience with developing web UI with Angular JS.
