Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management (GS PFM) specializes in creating personalized wealth management plans for affluent individuals and families. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

THE ROLE: YOUR IMPACT

This Head of Design for Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) will have a strong track record for delivering world-class user experiences and leading successful product design teams. You will have a strong creative vision for the future of the product and team with the executional expertise to deliver on that vision. You’ll work closely with the leads of priority programs and businesses (Private Wealth Management and GS Select Bank) serving our UHNW clients across platforms to deliver against firm, business, capability, and user KPI’s and develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the circumstances of the business and clients.

 

You are a confident yet empathetic leader who can toggle between the big picture and the impact of detailed execution. You evangelize the value of design in your collaboration with other capability leads and represent the practice within the UHNW business. You clearly communicate how the activities of the day lead to the realization of the shared vision, and roll up your sleeves to help the team see a path to success as a group and individually, helping to imagine, scope, plan, and distribute work in an environment that fosters trust, creativity, and team.

 

You are efficient, effective, forthright, and empathetic in your collaboration with the team and partners.

 

You’ll inspire and mentor an ambitious and talented team of designers to ship industry-leading products with our product managers and technologists, while focusing on cultivating a culture of collaboration and growth. As a designer-by-training and practiced leader you will contribute to setting the standards for the vision, craft, and creative output of the team.

 

Cross functional and cross divisional collaboration comes naturally to you, and will be imperative in your role on the CWM Design Leadership team, in contributing to the culture for CWM Design, recruiting and growing the team, and evolving our design practice.

 

As a leader across design disciplines the Head of Design should lead by example and have expertise in user-centered interface design, visual design, and/or experience design-- designing ecosystems of product experiences (web, mobile, app, email, and informing advertising, out of home, web, print, DM, and social) visual identity, style, and design system, bringing industry best practices, advancements in trends, emerging patterns, and their applicability to our products. You have a knack for cracking complex problems and crafting them into elegantly simple, intuitive designs with an eye for the details. You also mentor and lead teams to do the same.

 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 12 years of professional experience designing digital products
  • At least 5 years of managing a cohort of designers
  • Consumer product design experience
  • Experience in design thinking/ human centered design
  • Inspire and grow a creative team
  • Experience defining creative vision
  • Track record of collaborative cross-functional excellence
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships and influencing at the executive level
  • A proven track record of defining and promoting change and innovation
  • Passion for mentoring and teaching
  • Exceptional presentation, workshop and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills
  • A positive, constructive can-do attitude
  • An obsession with digital trends and design
  • Proven ability to translate vision and user feedback into actionable design
  • Strong familiarity with data, analytics and technology (both front and back-end)
  • The ability to translate concepts into initiatives and systems
  • A clean design aesthetic and the ability to simplify the complex
  • Banking or Wealth experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Design or related field
