Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Work as a software engineer focused on applications to support the GSAM Credit Alternatives Desk at Goldman Sachs including designing, developing, testing and maintaining applications and technology solutions. Work daily with the GSAM Credit Alternative management team, asset managers and fellow development team members to prioritize and deliver business requirements for the private credit and renewable power businesses. Responsible for end-to-end system development life cycle from requirements analysis, coding, testing, deploying, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and maintenance of financial applications. Work closely with User Experience (UX) designers to understand the behavior of software interface and come up with the technical design to implement. Design and build modular frontend features for applications leveraging technologies including JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, and CSS. Architect and implement object-oriented, scalable and distributed Scala web applications using frameworks and tools including Spring Boot, MongoDB and REST. Provide code review feedback to team members’ software changes to maintain structural quality of software. Use engineering practices like Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment to manage and deploy code to various environments using Gitlab and other proprietary tools. Provide bug fixes and test in an integration testing environment for on-going software releases. Make use of tools such as Gradle, Webpack to configure the build process for web applications. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies, but no prior knowledge of proprietary technologies required.


Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field. Three (3) years of experience (with Master’s degree) or five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor’s degree) in the offered role or a related software development role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience (with Master’s degree) or five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor’s degree) with: Micro-services architecture design and development, including REST and Scala; Software Development Life Cycle management, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment and production support; Programming in the Linux environment; and Using lightweight data-interchange formats, including JavaScript Object Notation (JSON). Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: Web technologies User Interface development, including Javascript, AngularJS, HTML5 and CSS; and Producer/consumer messaging technology design and development, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with: Persistence technologies, including MongoDb.
