EXECUTIVE OFFICE

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Vice President of Brand Advertising & Initiatives for Goldman Sachs, you will work directly with the MD of Brand Marketing to define the expression of the Goldman Sachs brand in the marketplace through firm-wide brand efforts and campaigns supporting key company initiatives like One Million Black Women, Sustainable Investing and 10,000 Small Businesses.

 

This leader will oversee a team of professionals to develop and execute marketing strategies against Goldman Sachs’ marketing pillars across all external-facing elements of the brand, touching millions of consumers as well as our clients and corporate stakeholders. As a key leader on the team, you will oversee discrete teams leading firm-wide marketing campaigns including recruitment and developing a brand campaign. You will also collaborate closely with other marketing leaders within the Brand Marketing team that oversee Content Marketing, Digital Platforms, Sponsorships & Partnerships and Social Media

 

This role sits within the new Goldman Sachs CMO organization, while collaborating closely with Divisional Marketing leaders across Consumer & Wealth, Asset Management, Investment Banking and Global Markets. The role is highly visible and requires a strong communicator and strategist who can think cross-functionally and bring a full-funnel mindset.

You will be responsible for:

  • Embedding a culture of “Customer Obsession” We need to ensure that all our work starts from deeply understanding the beliefs and needs of the end customer.
  • Plotting the course. In partnership with the Marketing Strategy team, these insights should inspire breakthrough marketing strategies and great briefs
  • Developing powerful and unique idea platforms for both individual initiatives and ultimately the Goldman Sachs brand itself
  • Executing with Excellence. Great brands are made of up a hundred “nice little touches”. This leader will need to bring provable experience of executing with exquisite craft in the broadest formats (TV, Video) to the most targeted (UX Design, Social Advertising)
  • Full funnel thinking. This team is very focused on proving the commercial impact of its work. All our activity needs to produce positive outcomes for large audiences. Campaigns need to be designed and instrumented with that journey from Awareness to Action

 

CORE COMPETENCIES

 

Industry Expertise

  • In-house experience in brand marketing with a significant digital focus. Fluency across award-winning brand creativity and results focused performance marketing
  • Creative or media agency leadership roles focused on driving outcomes in both brand and acquisition
  • Financial services category experience preferred but not required
  • Combination of B2B and B2C expertise

 

Functional Expertise

  • 15+ years in brand management or marketing roles with 5+ years in a leadership capacity
  • Development of Award-winning Brand Platforms and Executions with proven availability to extend to all consumer touchpoints
  • Experience in full-funnel digital or performance marketing campaign execution a significant plus
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams of in-house and external agency partners to develop holistic campaigns across channels in multiple geographic regions

 

Management Experience

  • Drives consensus and momentum across multiple teams internally, including senior Divisional leads
  • A key member of the executive marketing team helping to shape the overall strategy and direction of the brand
  • Ability to lead multiple agencies and external stakeholders to drive alignment and momentum
  • Experience managing matrixed organizations with dual reporting structures and joint accountability between Centralized Marketing and Divisional stakeholders
