Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. As a member of the Equities One Delta Workflow Engineering team, work closely with Equity sales and traders to develop and maintain the Firm’s order management and electronic merchandising technology platform that is based on the Firm’s proprietary framework and Java technology. Work closely with Equity desk strategists to develop various analytics tools and reports using the Firm’s proprietary technology. Directly responsible for full software development life cycle, from initial analysis and requirements gathering with users, through design, development, QA testing and production release. Responsible for requirements and design of new features and legacy application decommissioning. Analyze and make recommendations for the ideal architecture to support the growing list of functionality and analyze global impact. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies; no knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include three (3) years: Developing financial software using Java and relational databases (e.g. Sybase/DB2); Analyzing, modifying and testing of a real-time financial system with emphasis on high volume and low latency real-time systems; Applying knowledge of securities trading, capital markets and financial instruments to develop software; Performing end-to-end testing of high-volume/low latency real time systems in QA environment; Working in financial services supporting users and applications; Working with software development life cycle (SDLC) tools, such as git, subversion, gradle, Jenkins/Teamcity, JIRA; Working with scheduling system, such as Autosys, cron; and Event based programming. Prior experience must include two (2) years: Presenting technical solutions to internal clients to build and modify technologies; and Working with Linux shell scripting, such as bash. Prior experience must include one (1) year: Mentoring and training junior programmers for programming on trading platforms
