Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Responsible for designing, building, expanding and maintaining backend micro-services for Conflicts Engineering as part of a multi-year initiative to replace an existing legacy system. Some of the technologies being used in the project are: Java, Spring, SpringBoot, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Junit, Mockito, and Kubernetes. Work in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using the Agile methodology. Formulate design and implement requirements in the system following coding best practices and utilizing Object-Oriented programming and design patterns concepts. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, user story refinement, development, testing (unit, integration and regression), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and deployment. Support the system with business users and communicate ideas clearly and concisely to non-technical users of the system.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field. Minimum two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related software development role. Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience with: Working with and building micro-services with technologies like SpringBoot; working across all phases of Software Development Lifecycle including requirements gathering, development, unit/integration testing, user acceptance testing, deployment and maintenance; contributing to back-end application development using the following: Java and MongoDB; and communicating technical information verbally and in writing across all levels of seniority, from the team level to C-level executives. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with: Storing and retrieving data from Relational or NoSql databases; performing load testing including stress testing the application to ensure it can perform under the worst-case scenario; searching technologies like ElasticSearch, SOLR or Attivio; supporting investment banking products such as Debt & Equity Finance, Asset Acquisition and Equity Stake investments; and designing technology solutions that support financial services products.
