Investment Accounting Dallas - VP



  • Oversee U.S. GAAP historical cost basis accounting and reporting for entities that primarily own real estate investment, with oversight and leadership over the monthly closing process, general ledger and subledger details, and production of reports for internal and external users
  • Oversee audit process and report preparation on entities with this requirement
  • Oversight and review of monthly financial information rolling up to investors.  Investors are generally GS consolidated entities, GS managed fund entities, and outside investors.  Information provided to each varies based on investor requirements. 
  • Assist with current Yardi general ledger software rollout by overseeing the conversion of entities from JDE to Yardi
  • Gain working knowledge of both JDE and Yardi during the time period where both systems are in use (until 2022)
  • Liaise extensively with other areas of firm such as Asset Management Division, Operations, Treasury, Tax providers, Fund Accounting, Product Controllers, Engineering, etc.
  • Provide oversight and leadership for accurate and fair presentation of stand alone entity financial information and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Assist in the development of junior team members through coaching and mentoring
  • Perform and review ad hoc analyses upon request


  • Strong analytical / interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in accounting processes, accounting controls and accounting systems
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting
  • CPA is desired.
  • At least 7 years relevant work experience
  • Teamwork and collaboration-oriented, with the ability to work independently
  • Must demonstrate considerable energy, focus, drive, and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, operate within deadlines, and escalate when appropriate
  • Project management skills
