Investment Accounting Dallas - Associate

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Perform entity level accounting including asset level data uploads, review of asset level activity and financial statements, journal entry preparation and input, monthly close procedures and GAAP based financial statement preparation, utilizing JD Edwards, Yardi and related Investment Accounting systems.
  • Address ad hoc requests for entity financial data with extensive use of Excel and GL Company/Hubble applications.
  • Prepare entity-level data to support the quarterly/annual financial statement audit process and the quarterly and annual requests from the internal tax group for the entity as well as related quarterly Consolidated Goldman Sachs financial statement disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Interface with other support areas, including tax, financial reporting, regulatory controllers, fund accounting, corporate treasury/operations, and auditors.
  • Responsible for the cash management functions for the entity, including bank account set-up and maintenance, cash forecasting, and planning for cash contributions/distributions.
  • Review lender draw requests, procurement system invoice clearance and insurance claim administration.
  • Complete processes related to asset acquisition/disposition and on-boarding/wind-down of deals as needed.
  • Review the monthly close process, including journal entry and GAAP-based financial statement preparation, by analyst-level employees.
  • Provide ad hoc training and support on accounting treatment to analysts and new hires; serve as a “go to” resource for various asset classes. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical / interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in accounting processes, accounting controls and accounting systems
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate is desired.
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience
  • Teamwork and collaboration-oriented, with the ability to work independently
  • Must demonstrate considerable energy, focus, drive, and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, operate within deadlines, and escalate when appropriate
