Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Menlo Park, CA. Manage an application development engineering team tasked with building key projects in the banking space. Work closely with end-users (engineers) and other technology groups within the firm to either elicit requirements that they must meet or translate their requirements into well engineered solutions. Lead design discussions and technology choices. Participate as part of a global team on large development projects and/or assume responsibility for components of projects, depending on need. Must be willing to work with proprietary technologies. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.


Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Five (5) years prior experience must include: Utilizing agile in a software development environment; software development in Java environments and complex ecosystems consisting of millions of users, multiple load balancers, n-tier web servers, queuing mechanisms, horizontally scaled databases and cloud deployment; managing software development projects involving multiple engineers in various global locations; and communicating complex technical issues to business stakeholders and executives across the firm and partners. Applicant may work remotely when not at the Menlo Park address.
