Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Member of the Network Engineering Execution team, leveraging knowledge of industry trends and complex network concepts to employ different networking design techniques to improve service to our clients. Perform network administration activities as part of the Firm’s technical infrastructure team. Provide technical input to client engineering teams for infrastructure improvement. Ensure standard operating procedures and guidelines are in place. Responsible for project scheduling, including planned work scheduling. Maintain and support the Goldman Sachs global network infrastructure. Leverage multiple network monitoring tools to analyze network traffic patterns to proactively identify performance issues and account for capacity planning.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Computer Information Sciences, or related field. Minimum five (5) years of experience with Bachelor’s degree or two (2) years of experience with Master’s degree in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include five (5) years with Bachelor’s or two (2) years with Master’s: Using networking technologies and protocols, such as TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, Firewalls, Carrier Circuits, or Ethernet; using Cisco Routers & Switches, Nexus, ASR, ISR product lines, Cisco IOS, NX-OS, Juniper and Netscreen firewalls, and GRE/IPSec; troubleshooting network connectivity and various network protocols, such as LAN, WAN, MAN, BGP, OSPF, or TCP; working with network management tools, including network monitoring and splunk; working with TCP internals and other L4-7 protocols and technologies such as: SSL,HTTP, DNS, NTP, Local Load Balancing, Global Load Balancing, or Netmon/Wireshark; configuring network routing and troubleshooting protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, or IS-IS, to maintain global networks; configuring and troubleshooting switching protocols, such as Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), VLAN, or VTP; using Network Security protocols, including Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS), and Secure Socket Layer (SSL), to maintain secure data transmission; installing and configuring data center engineering (Nexus & ACI) technology hardware; creating and configuring Firewalls (CISCO ASR & Juniper SRX) to block unwanted traffic; developing root cause flow charts and troubleshooting procedures to identify faults and restore service; delivering operational support improvements to technologies, processes, tools, or services; and executing requests for analysis support and representing network execution strategic initiatives including vendor service level reviews, asset management, and capacity management.
