We are seeking an Associate focused on U.S. Event Driven situations to work closely with the Relative Value Equity Specialist and Trading team. You will follow event driven situations broadly and focus on potential value creating corporate actions, including spinoffs/splits, RMTs, dutch tenders, and special dividends. You can be expected to generate investment ideas, conduct valuation analysis, opine on risk positions, and contribute to building a robust Event Driven/RV franchise across the firm.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities:

You will be working closely to:

  • Build strong knowledge in the event driven space.
  • Work closely with cash and volatility traders to help manage risk and distributions of outcomes.
  • Help develop and maintain framework to track and monitor the calendar of relevant event driven situations.
  • Contribute to investment banking division (IBD) and equity capital markets (ECM) with market color and connectivity around the situations.
  • Build detailed frameworks for event driven situations.
  • Conduct market research, evaluate business fundamentals, engage with management teams and synthesize real time data.

 Who We Look For

The Equities Division is looking for an experienced analyst/associate to conduct analyses, build frameworks and speak to investors on situations in the event driven space.
Experience in Investment Banking, Research or Buyside investing is preferred with focus on fundamental single-stock analysis, financial statements analysis and understanding of event driven catalysts/structure and regulatory catalysts.  

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Modeling and financial statement analysis background
  • Familiarity with different product areas (equities, derivatives, bonds, etc.)
  • Proven ability in developing client and industry relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Modeling background/experience in IBD or Research role
  • M&A Structuring desk background (not necessary)
  • Network of event driven investors and/or industry contacts (not necessary)
