Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Lead technical specialist for Commodities Business Unit, which provides client support services to our internal clients. Deliver and ensure timely completion of Commodities daily batch processes. Address and resolve user support requests and technical issues on a daily basis. Ensure service delivery of all AppBank services as defined in the AppBank Service catalogue, such smooth operation of systems in a cost effective and risk averse manner; ensure process compliance and operations; lead process transformation by driving automation and efficiency initiatives; improve quality of customer experience, project, people and program management; set up goals and processes for this function. Oversee the day-to-day operations and quality of service provided by the team in New York, London, and Singapore and make decisions to improve it. Oversee risk management and implementation of operational processes and procedure improvements. Supervise full time employees and managed service, and delegate assignments to them. Plan the workloads and productivity goals of the professionals being managed; schedule major projects based on business needs and ensure they are completed within the expected timeline and expected quality. Participate in the recruitment process for the AFragomppBank Team. Communicate issues effectively with teams across both business and technical organizations including Sales, Trading, Operations and Controllers. Support commodities systems with proprietary tools, manage communication with business and perform triage of issues during system outages. Provide support globally for various commodities products such as Energy, Metals, Agricultural and manage issues during trade booking, execution, reconciliations with exchanges, venues, clients and internal applications. Debug issues and find root causes working alongside with developers from application development team; resolve issues efficiently; and manage system outage incidents. Focus on efficiency and automation by reviewing cost avoidance measures and metrics on a regular basis. Work with the team and stake holders to identify opportunities to reduce cost, and validate current services and review alternatives. Identify operational/ financial risks in current delivery services and product defects; propose fixes and leverage automation opportunities to gain cost efficiencies and drive the implementation. Identify recurring issues and come up with recommendations to bring down support costs. Oversee the team to ensure day-to-day operational metrics are monitored, stay on top of the deliverables, help to solve issues, and interface with senior management on significant issues. Mentor, instruct, train and provide technical guidance to more junior members of the team. Review errors and minimize errors by ensuring right levels of quality checks in the process. Provide transparency to the customers, set right expectations, and meet and exceed the expectations. Provide necessary feedback to the vendors about their services, explain BU’s concerns and communicate the improvements expected. Supervises the work of Four (4) employees: One (1) Vice President; One (1) Associate; Two (2) Contingent Workers.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology and Management, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology and Management, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Must have 6 years of experience with: debugging and resolving complex technical and user reported issues; communicating directly with users, application owners, and stakeholders while managing escalations and critical application incidents; developing tools that transform manual processes into automated processes to reduce risk and manual effort; and managing incidents and triaging issues during system outages. Must have 5 years of experience with: coding in object-oriented programming language, like C++, Java; using a scripting language such as shell or perl; and using database technologies, like Sybase and DB-2. Must have 3 years of experience with: commodities as a business and its process life cycle such as, start-of-day batch processes, exchanges, venues in running third party business, end-of-day batch processes and user support.
