Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Lead a team through the full software development life cycle, starting from understanding the concepts and requirements to development, testing, rollout, and support. Collaborate with other infrastructure teams on application enhancements to improve user workflow. Analyze user needs and business requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with Systems Analyst, Engineers, Programmers, and others to design system and obtain information on project capabilities and limitation, performance requirements and interfaces. Contribute to strategic and technical vision in developing scalable low maintenance infrastructure for proprietary cloud-based solutions. Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology. Analyze performance of programs and take necessary actions such as enhancing the code, retiring the code, introducing parallelism wherever necessary to improve performance or correcting deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor. Provide technical and career guidance to Junior developers and work in tandem with them. Work as part of a global team providing inputs to better the existing workflows and contributing to maximizing the team’s productivity.


Job Requirements: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related position. Prior work experience must include two (2) years of experience with a master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree with: developing object-oriented software using Java or Python, including advanced topics including multi-threading environment, JDBC, Reflections, Generics and collection framework; designing Restful services that can be consumed by Web Applications; designing GUI and MVC architecture; utilizing Javascript and JQuery for building the UI components for a web application; utilizing AngularJS and bootstrap for developing the front end for a web application; utilizing SQL and NOSQL databases including DB2, MongoDB or similar databases in the context of software development and maintenance; utilizing Linux, including UNIX commands to be able to analyze, maintain and develop server-side scripts; designing patterns, object-oriented programming and best practices of coding; performing unit testing using frameworks like Junit or Mockito or similar technologies; working across the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering; functional and technical design; development; user acceptance testing; release procedures; change request analysis; and production support; utilizing a major source control system including SVN or GIT; interacting with end users to collect the feedback on the applications; working concurrently on multiple development projects; and working as a member of large development team on development projects and experience communicating effectively across a large development team and at the same time able to lead smaller teams to success.
