GLOBAL COMPLIANCE

 

Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, political science, and criminal justice. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

This role is dedicated to the Marketing Compliance function which services the needs of diverse financial products and services.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide compliance advisory services for digital finance and other consumer and small business initiatives. This includes completing timely approvals of public and client facing information and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop procedures, checklists, training materials and testing plans and controls established to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Advise authors of advertising materials, including, but not limited to, Executive Office and Consumer Brand and Acquisitions teams with regard to applicable regulatory standards, company policies and procedures and general regulatory environment.
  • Educate and update business partners on specific changes within the industry and applicable regulations affecting advertising material and approval process.
  • Partner with technology teams on continued development of infrastructure for approval and archival of marketing communications.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with channel specific acquisition strategies, including, but not limited to, display, videos, radio, email, podcast, sponsored content, paid search, social media and OOH.
  • Assist in responding to regulatory requests and exam deliverables, internal audit information requests and requests from other company team members. Assist with action plans created as a result of examinations, audits or internal testing. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Five plus years of legal, compliance or related experience in financial services industry or bank regulatory agency with knowledge of digital marketing and the expectations of regulators for an effective compliance program.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience.
  • Strong understanding of retail bank products, processes and compliance risk management processes.
  • Must be a team player. Strong interpersonal and communication skills- both written and verbal.
  • Must be self-directed, organized, positive, driven, detail oriented, able to manage others, and effective in a fast-paced changing environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Working knowledge of federal and state marketing and communications laws and regulations, including, among others, Unfair, Deceptive or Abuse Acts or Practices (UDAAP), CAN-SPAM, Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z), Truth in Savings (Regulation DD), Card Act, Regulation P (Privacy) and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B).
  • Familiarity with trademark, FTC influencer and sponsored ad guidelines, AdChoices and other industry standards.
  • Ability to process all material assigned for review and approval in a timely manner.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize and make good judgments, including when to escalate matters to management.
  • Must be highly organized in order to process a high volume of documents daily.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build rapport, garner respect and appropriately exercise judgment and decision making in a collaborative consensus-driven environment.
