Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Product Engineer within the SPG (Synthetics Product Group) business, responsible for implementing product strategy for the Synthetics business, taking accountability for its evolution, understanding user needs and driving their agenda forward in line with core business and platform strategy. Improve business development by owning product strategy for the business products and development of products (i.e., derivative instruments). Ensure quality functional design and partner with technical experts to deliver best in class software solutions for internal and external clients. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including Trading, Sales, Structuring, Operations, External Clients, and many other teams. Serve as liaison between the business and the developers, translating complex functional requirements into software driven solutions. Apply extensive understanding of equity derivative products and their associated booking flows, in addition to how the Firm interacts operationally with clients, to deliver effective functional solution design.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Management, or other related technical discipline. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related product development role. Prior experience must include five (5) years: applying understanding of synthetics business to complex business processing including derivatives calculators, booking flows, client profiles, and regulatory requirements; performing UX reviews and proposing UI design solutions for trading applications; managing up to 5 large scale projects with approx. 3-5 smaller projects in parallel; liaising with internal and external stakeholders, such as clients and vendors, to interpret and understand complex functional requirements and translate into technical requirements; using project management tools, such as Alteryx, to establish patterns in client post trade behavior and identify opportunities for automation; and using Equity Derivative Product knowledge, such as OTC equity swaps, listed instruments and futures, to develop product lines. Prior experience must include three (3) years: drawing business process maps, including process design, requirements documentation, user experience, and data analytics, using Signavio.
