The GSAM Retail SMA Oversight team sits within the Asset Management Division and has primary responsibility of client’s portfolio account event, position and cash management, risk management and innovative solutions, and serves as the single point of contract for all operations related client inquiries. Functions cover a wide range of clients and a complex product range, which includes equities, fixed income, currency and derivatives. The group supports portfolio managers, sales and trading and client relationship professionals by providing accurate and timely client account information and overseeing all aspects of operational risk across portfolios.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Responsibilities and Qualifications

This is a highly technical and collaborative role and as such requires the capability to work effectively with a diverse range of professionals both internally and externally, covering a wide variety of products and functions to solve for operational efficiency. The main areas of responsibility will be:

 

  • As part of this role, the Candidate will partner with the Asset Management and Consumer Wealth (CWM) teams to create and facilitate the operational design of a strategic platform to support the Separately Managed Account (SMA) and CWM business and new market opportunities
  • Create and Review account level metrics (i.e., reconciling items on cash/position reconciliations, daily corporate actions, NAV reconciliations, failing trades, standard/non-standard reporting deliverables) as defined by operating standards and research, escalate, remediate exceptions as appropriate
  • Create daily SLA metrics and forecasting across our main business to track and monitor our KPIs and KRIs
  • Leverage business intelligence tools and information systems to create new tools and workflows while ensuring accounting data accuracy and provide account policy oversight in order to create a controlled environment for investment management processes
  • Scalability analysis of workflow cost drivers and trends to help drive process improvements and efficiency, budgeting and cost allocation to various revenue producing desks
  • Assist in the launch of new products and instruments
  • Process and control analysis to ensure effective oversight and risk management
  • Participation and analysis of industry events to assess impact for AMD

 

 

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 8 yrs + professional experience
  • Previous experience in Operations and/or Financial Services Industry, preferably in FinTech and Asset management
  • Be highly collaborative, team-oriented and strong consensus builder
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral
  • Ability to drive projects through execution with minimal oversight
  • Risk management focus
  • Attention to detail with a sense of urgency a must
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel and proficient in PowerPoint and Word as well as web-based applications
  • Bachelor’s degree required

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Demonstrate ability to partner across product groups, regions and functional responsibilities Knowledge of Python or R programing languages
  • Technically adapt to working with Business Intelligence and low code tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and Robotics Processing Automation (RPA)
  • Agile Project Management using Atlassian JIRA Project Management
  • VBA and SQL knowledge
  • Be a strategic thinker, possesses strong facilitation and data gathering skills
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle and user experience for the distribution of products on a digital platform
