RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Alternatives Capital Markets & Strategy (ACMS) is a firmwide group established in 2019 to oversee all institutional capital markets, capital raising, and strategy for alternative investments throughout Goldman Sachs.  Engaging with both Goldman Sachs’ proprietary direct-investing programs and external managers’ open-architecture strategies, the ACMS Group centrally manages capital raising for all alternatives products and portfolio solutions for all institutional investors in alternatives, across private equity, credit, real estate, infrastructure, growth equity, secondaries, GP stakes, impact investing, and absolute-return strategies.

Within ACMS, team members work within product verticals but also collaborate across strategies, to share best practices and identify portfolio-wide solutions in partnership with the ACMS Client Strategy Teams.  Professional development initiatives are managed centrally across the entire ACMS Group, with regular opportunities to enhance expertise across all alternative investment products, and to sharpen market knowledge from industry experts investing across the Firm.

The Secondaries Product Strategy Team within ACMS is responsible for capital raising and investor relations for the Firm’s Secondaries platform globally. Established in 1998, the Secondaries business (Vintage Funds) have invested over $40 billion of capital since inception. The Vintage Funds provide liquidity, capital and partnering solutions to private market investors and managers worldwide across private equity strategies. The Product Strategy team works closely with ACMS capital markets, research, strategy and alternatives fundraising teams, as well as the investing and fund management teams on all aspects of fundraising and investor relations.  The Product Strategy Team also works closely with the firm’s institutional, retail and private wealth distribution channels across a broad range of new and existing funds, separately management accounts and co-investments.

  • Strong quantitative, writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, with an ability to manage multiple projects with different deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Advanced facility with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity on alternative investing strategies, particularly the private markets.
  • Prior investing, capital markets, investment banking or investor relations experience is an asset.
