About Global Marketing & Content Group

 

Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm’s future growth. As such, Goldman Sachs is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of a number of key COE roles in areas such as Brand, Media, Content and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve

 

Within Global Marketing sits the Content group, which is charged with representing Goldman Sachs to the public. They do this by:

  • Driving the full lifecycle of content for the firm, including strategy and planning, publishing, distribution, analytics, measurement and technology
  • Developing improved governance to ensure content is built for purpose, and can be leveraged across our full array of audiences and channels
  • Incubating new content formats and products while seeking new ways to reach and engage different audiences
  • Collaborating with content creators and editors-in-chief across the firm, uniting our commitment to innovation and experimentation in one of our greatest assets, our thought leadership and insights

Role Summary:

 

This Vice President, Finance/Markets Editor will play a key role in developing firm-wide content and editorial platforms that support areas of Goldman Sachs thought leadership. With a special focus on finance, markets, digital banking, economic inclusion and broader themes impacting the global economy, the Finance/Markets Editor will work closely with senior leadership to define new content series, content verticals, and actionable ideas. The best candidate will be an expert storyteller with experience across digital platforms, someone with a passion for deep understanding, analysis, and making an impact. They will report to the Vice President, Deputy Editor. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee firm-wide content development tied to financial services and global markets, such as Post-Pandemic Economy, Capital Market Innovation, Economic Inclusion, Digital Banking of the Future, etc.
  • Work closely with senior leadership across the firm to align on thought leader themes and develop editorial platforms and campaign strategies to support them
  • Provide content expertise, insights and actionable ideas to develop new content series, shows, and products across multiple platforms and digital/social distribution channels
  • Guide production and execution of content, contributing to editorial selection, writing and structure
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and maintain a standard of smart brevity

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in media, content or communications
  • Sound editorial judgment and a passion for storytelling
  • Deep understanding of and passion for critical issues, global policy and affairs, and social impacts affecting the world of business and finance
  • Strategic, horizontal thinker with the ability to think creativity across multiple communication channels
  • High tolerance for and interest in experimentation
  • Diplomatic sensibility and ability to work with senior leadership
  • Voracious appetite and aptitude for media and big ideas
  • Performance-driven individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and use data to inform decisions
