The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm’s future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of a number of key COE roles in areas such as Brand, Media, and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve.

Within Global Marketing sits the COE for paid media, responsible for designing and implementing a global paid media strategy that identifies distribution channels across multiple platforms, executes best-in-class media activations that amplify the brand and business strategy for our priority audiences, leverages data and insights to drive the global marketing strategy and identifies key opportunities and trends that exist within the media landscape. The team works in partnership with the brand marketing, content, research, analytics and social media teams, as well as teams of revenue division marketers, to build upon strategic goals and define a clear channel neutral approach for amplifying key campaigns and firm messaging within paid media.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Description:

The VP Programmatic will be responsible for leading the success of our programmatic media efforts. You will provide thought leadership on campaign strategies and optimization; build strong relationships and establish clear lines of communication with campaign stakeholders, partners and internal team members. You will drive innovative tests across buying platforms, ad formats, emerging channels, and optimization methods. You are strategic,  analytical and use problem solving capabilities to assure flawless program execution to exceed expectations in both business and campaign objectives.

As the VP of Programmatic you will create thoughtful, high-performing Programmatic approaches that exceed performance expectations whether branding or ROI- driven. While this role reports into the Managing Director of Global Paid Media, you will work closely with our head of martech , data and analytics, digital media  and across all lines of businesses..

 Responsibilities include:

  • Leverage expertise within programmatic media to work in collaboration with partner agencies to develop cohesive campaign approaches and learning agendas that will impact future marketing campaigns.
  • Interfaces with division leads to share ideas, communicate best practices and to identify and deliver new solutions
  • Keeps management apprised of opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of marketing initiatives
  • Review deliverables for quality and ensures that recommendations and work product are sound and viable
  • Understands programmatic optimization best practices and articulates knowledge and deliverables effectively
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills and creates and delivers effective presentations
  • Commands data analysis of key metrics to identify, recommend and implement changes for increasing the performance of programs
  • Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity
  • Assists in training, mentoring, and developing team members firm-wide
  • Motivated to step outside of campaign work and manage projects that will benefit the broader team, team culture, and personal/professional development
  • Familiar with process mapping and optimizing operational workflows to mitigate risks while reducing time to market
  • Assists in the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of Digital Media experience. Hands-on experience with Programmatic Media.
  • Experience within Financial Services Industry a plus.
  • Proficient in advertising technology platforms and tools including Demand-Side Platforms, Ad Servers, Site Analytics, Tag Management, Ad Verification, Attribution and Measurement
  • Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills
  • High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work independently and balance multiple tasks
  • Bachelor's degree, concentration in business, marketing, or advertising preferred
