Led by the firm’s first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm’s future growth. As such, GS is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of a number of key COE roles in areas such as Brand, Media, and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Within Global Marketing sits the COE for paid media, responsible for designing and implementing a global paid media strategy that identifies distribution channels across multiple platforms, executes best-in-class media activations that amplify the brand and business strategy for our priority audiences, leverages data and insights to drive the global marketing strategy and identifies key opportunities and trends that exist within the media landscape. The team works in partnership with the brand marketing, content, research, analytics and social media teams, as well as teams of revenue division marketers, to build upon strategic goals and define a clear channel neutral approach for amplifying key campaigns and firm messaging within paid media.



Role Summary

This Associate (Paid Social Specialist) will play a key role as part of the Global Media’s Transformation & Best Practices team.  As a paid social specialist, you will act as an industry and discipline leader to guide and inform paid social media strategy and execution across multiple lines of business. With a deep knowledge of all social platforms coupled with an innate curiosity for exploring industry trends, you will develop a best practices for flawless execution of paid social media firm wide as well as determine a learning agenda across emerging platforms.

Position Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of best practices across all primary paid social channels (eg. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest as wellas Clubhouse)
  • Act as the one of  key liaisons with platform industry leads to advance the engagement on platform for all GS LOB’s
  • Along with the Associate of Digital, negotiate JBP’s with key partners that will create efficiencies and add value across GS
  • In collaboration with the paid media and marketing teams, identify the role of Paid Social in a media plan to meet campaign objectives and determine KPI’s that will meet set goals.
  • Partner with the organic social team to align on best practices for ad units, measurement and sequencing of messaging across all owned channels
  • Develop and own testing plan for new learnings and improve campaign performance
  • Work collaboratively with analytics and GS.com leads to determine variables that would impact plan performance and optimize towards goals.
  • Manage projects to enhance the organization’s marketing tech stack (as needed)




  • 5+ years of Paid Social experience. Must have “hands on keys” experience
  • Working experience with all Social Media platforms, ideally with global market experience
  • Experience managing multiple budgets and negotiating large scale contracts
  • Experience advising and consulting on crisis management for social channels
  • Experience with response on community management
  • Experience managing vendors and agencies
