Are you an experience wealth management professional with a passion for working with families to achieve their long-term financial and estate planning goals, seek to work closely with top fiduciary, tax and wealth management professionals, and are a solutions-oriented?  Our Senior Trust Officers (STO) are trust and relationships experts that partner with Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) serving Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management clients. STOs proactively engage with clients, PWAs and their external advisors to implement estate plans to achieve client goals. Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

 

The Goldman Sachs Trust Company (GSTC) is an integral part of the Goldman Sachs private client experience.  We offer an innovative approach to fiduciary administration resulting from the effective integration of GS capabilities.  Our STOs work directly with our Private Wealth Advisors to deliver a superior experience for our clients, while adhering to our responsibilities as a professional fiduciary.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Serve as primary officer responsible for the management and administration of key trust company client relationships and fiduciary accounts
  • Work closely with PWA Teams to develop long-term relationships with clients, families and beneficiaries
  • Coordinate client management with PWAs, engaging regularly with clients, family members and their attorneys and advisors
  • Interpret and understand estate planning instruments including, trusts, wills, tax filings and other related documents governing each account
  • Understand and apply fiduciary laws and practices in a proactive manner, implementing estate and trust planning strategies
  • Understand investment goals and objectives and coordinate the investment process with GSTC investment officers and PWAs
  • Contribute to new business development efforts, representing the GSTC in meetings with prospects, attorneys, and other professional advisors
  • Perform responsibilities consistent with best fiduciary and risk management practices
  • Handle complex trust and relationship matters
  • Manage regulatory reviews and discretionary distribution requests
  • Coordinate and oversee tax preparation on accounts with our tax compliance service provider
  • Participate in internal and external marketing efforts and thought leadership
  • Keep current on federal and applicable state fiduciary and tax laws

WHERE WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Our Private Wealth Management business spans the globe, with the following locations in the United States: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Miami (Florida and Latin America coverage), Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C. and West Palm Beach.  The Trust Company has offices in New York and Wilmington, Delaware.  The Senior Trust Officer position is for our Delaware office.

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of experience administering trusts and/or estates
  • College degree required
  • Law degree a strong plus
  • CTFA designation a plus
  • Accounting background and/or fiduciary tax expertise a plus
  • Understanding of “Regulation 9” requirements and core concepts affecting fiduciary administration
  • Expertise in trust, estate, and tax administration and/or planning
  • Understanding of financial markets and prudent investor standards
  • Strong team orientation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an autonomous, yet collaborative environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity
