RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Position Description

The Alternative Capital Markets and Strategy (“ACMS”) and Real Estate teams within the Asset Management Division are looking for an Analyst to join the Real Estate Co-Investment Team in Dallas.

The Asset Management Division (“AMD”) invests in equity and credit across corporate, real estate, growth capital and infrastructure assets using Goldman Sachs' own capital and capital raised from outside investors. Our clients access these solutions through our direct proprietary strategies, customized strategic partnerships, and open-architecture programs. Our alternative investment teams represent over 1,000 professionals, across 31 offices around the world. We leverage the depth and breadth of global relationships across Goldman Sachs to identify investment opportunities, drawing on our firm-wide capital market insights, industry research, and risk management platforms. We extend these capabilities to the world’s leading pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, governments, financial institutions, endowments, foundations, family offices and individuals, for which we invest or advise on over $300 billion of alternative investments.

The Real Estate Co-Investment Team within AMD coordinates the syndication of co-investment opportunities to the division’s key investor base, enabling these clients to invest alongside Goldman Sachs in private real estate investments across equity and credit. In addition, the Real Estate Co-Investment Team plays a significant role in the structuring of the firm’s investments, working with the investment deal teams and investor clients, as well as various functional areas within the firm and across divisions (Global Markets, IBD, PWM, etc.).

We are now looking to add an Analyst to this growing team to work on the syndication of real estate private investments globally.

The work is deal and investor focused, allowing you access to a wide range of real estate asset classes, investment structures and investor types around the globe. You will follow the full life cycle of the deal execution process –getting involved with deal structuring, investor targeting, marketing of the investment to external clients, book-building and allocation process, negotiation with investors on terms and economics, and coordination of funding and closing of the investment.
The position is a unique opportunity to gain experience and insight into a broad range of alternative private investments through the lens of the most sophisticated investors around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in structuring private equity and principal debt transactions – alongside investment deal teams - to address commercial, legal, accounting, tax and regulatory considerations for investor clients and GS
  • Marketing investment opportunities to investor clients
  • Preparing, organizing and maintaining deal-related marketing materials and analyses
  • Working with investment deal teams to respond to deal related questions from investor clients
  • Participate in syndication approval and investment allocation processes
  • Assist with negotiating commercial and legal agreements with investor clients
  • Coordinate with investment deals teams and execution teams to facilitate closing of syndication process

  • Prepare marketing and track record materials on the AMD co-investment platform and capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Ideally 1-3 years of prior work experience in investment banking, alternative investments or a finance/accounting-based position preferably with exposure to Real Estate
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
