MORE ABOUT THIS JOB The Goldman Sachs Legal team seeks to hire a real estate transaction attorney to support the Asset Management Division (“AMD”) of Goldman Sachs (“GS”).  In particular, the role will support the Real Estate team within AMD that covers the Americas (“AMD Real Estate”).  The role will serve as transaction counsel to AMD Real Estate and will focus on real estate acquisition, development, construction, joint ventures, financing, leasing, asset management and disposition across multiple product types in the Americas, including office, multi-family, industrial, hospitality, senior housing, student housing and retail.  Additionally, the role will be involved in compliance with regulatory schemes applicable to real estate investments made by regulated financial institutions such as GS and will work with the business and compliance teams to ensure proper policies and procedures are adopted in connection with regulatory developments.  By way of example, this role will cover term sheets, purchase/sale agreements, joint venture agreements, financing documentation, development agreements, construction documents, all types of leases, broker listing agreements, asset management agreements and property management agreements.  We do not expect a candidate to be expert in all these areas, but rather to be conversant in these areas and able to work with outside counsel.  Our practice is a mix of in-house production and outsourcing to external counsel.
